AMD has unveiled a new graphics card that will occupy the midrange. The AMD Radeon RX 470 will fully enjoy games in Full HD.
At present, few PC gamers play in 4K. The majority of them are not necessarily interested in the all powerful graphics cards but looking for a product to enjoy all their games at 60 frames per second with high graphics mode, Full HD (1080p), and without breaking the bank. It is this category of players that target AMD with its new Radeon RX 470, the little sister of the RX 480 marketed for several weeks.

Far from wanting (and able) to compete Nvidia cards and the new 1000 series, AMD offers with the Radeon RX 470, an affordable graphics card that can run games in full HD at 60 frames / second. This RX 470 is actually a version "castrated" RX 480. It is based on the same architecture Polaris but the chip is slightly less powerful than the first-mentioned, it is clocked at 926 MHz (1206 MHz Boost mode) and 2048 is equipped with processing units.
RAM level map 4GB of DDR5 embarks clocked at 1650 MHz, interfaced in 256 bits. The card is supplied with a 6-pin socket and AMD announced a modest consumption of 120 watts in.
An economic and efficient card
The Radeon RX 470 should be offered at a price below 250 euros. The basic version is announced at a little over 200 euros but partners such as Asus models or Sapphire will be sold between 220 and 250 euros. Some of these versions, however, have the right to a slight overclocking and a doubled amount of memory.
According to the manufacturer, compared to the old R9 270 output it two years ago, itself being a somewhat boosted version of the HD 7870, the RX 470 is more than twice as powerful on recent games such as Hitman or yet Doom, allowing to play comfortably to 66 and 107 fps respectively.
