Asus has added to its website a new motherboard reference the J3455M-E. Its particularity is to embark, for the first time, one of the latest Intel Atom, the Apollo Lake. Remember, Apollo Lake is a 14nm SoC using Goldmont architecture that we should have also found in mobile SoC Broxton. They had however been canceled in May.
The embedded processor is a Celeron J3455. This is a quad core SoC with a base frequency of 1.5 GHz and a maximum turbo frequency of 2.3 GHz. He is accompanied by 2 MB of L2 cache, and an Intel GPU with 12 EU clocked between 250 and 750 MHz.
For the SoC part, we first find a manager DDR3L memory controller / LPDDR3 LPDDR4 1866 and until 2400 on two channels. 6 PCI Express lanes are present, but limited to 2.0 mode. Finally, note that there are 2 ports SATA 6 Gb / s and 4 USB 3.0 ports and four USB 2.0 ports. Everything fits into a TDP of 10 watts announced.
