Samsung and Seagate are two competitors in the field of storage drives. Both manufacturers have recently announced that it managed to reach dizzying capacity for their respective SSD. Korean presented a disk of 60 TB but in the prototype stage, Samsung replica with an SSD with a capacity of 32 TB but operational.
SSD prototype 60 TB Seagate
While Samsung held the ability to record to an SSD with 15 TB, Seagate this week unveiled a record 60 TB. The American manufacturer of SSD uses a SCSI NAS and is reserved for companies. Samsung: an operational SSD of 32 TB
For its part, Samsung presented this week a new SSD 2.5-inch format with a capacity of 32 TB, at the Flash Memory Summit, held in Santa Clara, California. For this new product the South Korean manufacturer uses the fourth generation of V-NAND is able to accommodate 64 to 48 layers against previous models. The drive is capable of achieving 1500MB / s read speeds and 900MB / s write almost double of products offered to the public. It should be marketed beginning in 2017 to an undisclosed price. Samsung has also stated its goal of reaching 100 TB of capacity by 2020.
