While Windows 10 has just undergone a recent major update, Microsoft engineers are already working on Redstone 2, a build is available for participants to Windows Insiders.

Redstone 1, renamed Windows 10 Anniversary Update, has just been deployed in early August. But the question for Microsoft to take a vacation and programmers are already working on Redstone 2, the future major update of the flagship operating system of the Redmond company. Users of Windows Insiders program can already get a glimpse of the future update of the operating system.

What's new now with Redstone 2?

Just days after the release of Redstone 1, Microsoft offers users to Windows Insiders to test future Redstone 2 and for now, there's not much to put in their mouths. The gradual upgrade its updates gives, for the moment, few tracks on the new applications it will offer. The Redmond company also warned: "You will not see many big noticeable changes or new features for the moment".

The Windows 10 editor explains that at the moment, it is mainly focused on bug fixes but also works on the OneCore (common core for all Windows 10). Microsoft says Windows Insiders participants that "We the code refactoring and other engineering work to ensure that OneCore is perfectly structured before the teams to start working on new features and improvements in a few months" .

Notifications in File Explorer

The only notable innovation on this first build Redstone 2 is in the file browser level. A display allows the user to know the possible changes of the operating system. A notification can be disabled by users who would find it too intrusive.

Microsoft explains in his blog that "As part of an effort to explore new ways to educate our customers about the features in Windows 10, we test new notifications in the file explorer. They are designed to help customers by providing fast information on the things they can do or new features they can try to get a better experience Windows 10 ".

In recent additions to the next major release of the OS, it will have to wait the next build. The final deployment Redstone 2 is not expected before 2017.
