The Cooler Master MasterKeys Lite L Combo

Cooler Master today announced the MasterKeys Lite L Combo, which includes an RGB-illuminated splash-resistant keyboard and gaming mouse. The entire bundle is priced at justS$109, making it an attractive option for gamers looking for an affordable yet feature-rich keyboard and mouse combo.
Both keyboard and mouse can display a range of RGB lighting effects like waves and ripples. The keyboard itself also features controls that let you change things like the repeat rate, lighting modes and speed on-the-fly.
But even though it is priced so affordably, the keyboard still comes with things like media hotkeys and the requisite anti-ghosting feature (up to 26 keys). It is also splash-resistant – courtesy of what Cooler Master says is a nanofilm coating and housing – so it should be able to come out of small accidents unscathed.
With that said, there are still going to be certain trade-offs. For one, this isn’t an actual mechanical keyboard, even though the keycaps can be removed and replaced with Cherry MX-compatible third-party caps.

Instead, Cooler Master has gone with what it calls mem-chanical switches, which are really membrane switches that mimic the tactile feel of their mechanical counterparts. As it turns out, this is the same type of switch used in the Devastator II keyboard and mouse combo.
When it comes to the mouse, you’ll find it paired with an Avago 3050 optical sensor that tracks up to 3,500DPI, together with a DPI button that lets you switch between 500, 1000, 2,000, and 3,500DPI on-the-fly.
The Cooler Master MasterKeys Lite L Combo is available to buy now in stores.
